Community Over Competition
Story-time!
I recently joined a mastermind with Cathy Heller and she has seriously got me rethinking alllll kinds of things in terms of limiting beliefs I've held over all these years.
So I don't know if you're into that kind of thing...
But I want to share a story with you about something that happened to me last night.
I was listening to one of her Hypnotherapy sessions as I was falling asleep.
After falling asleep during the session I woke up later; around 12pm.
I all of the sudden had a flashback of myself as a 7 year old in a softball uniform. ( you know the standard baseball picture we all took as kids holding the bat)
Round glasses, buck teeth, chubby everything... but so beautiful, so kind and sweet, so excited about life, so full of love and light.
I started bawling at 12:01pm and realized that around that age and that photo being taken, I had as some point looked in the mirror and decided that because of how I looked, I wasn't good enough.
And I've carried that with me for 31 YEARS!!!!
I heard a voice say, "You are enough. You are good. You always were and always will be."
And then I went back to sleep.
Weird?!?!?!
And I've felt so much lighter today. Lighter than I have in years.
All this to say, sometimes, all it takes is trying something new; even when we're not sure about it....
Investing in ourselves when we're not positive it will pay off....
The risks are worth it.
You are worth it.
Betting on yourself is the one bet you'll always win.
If you're still reading this then you probably came to read about Part 3 of My Engagement Strategy to grow your community!
This step may surprise you and may be hard but I want you to rethink what you've always thought about your "competition"
When it comes to social media, and growing your audience through engagement, you have to realize that your dream clients are probably also your competitions dream clients.
And the GREAT new is that THERE ARE ENOUGH CLIENTS TO GO AROUND!!!
There is ABUNDANCE for everyone! ( shout out Cathy Heller)
In order to build an engaged community I want you to go and follow 3 of your "competitors" or accounts that do what you do and serve the peeps you serve.
Then, start leaving supportive and positive comments on their posts and stories...
Trust that your people will come to you.
And watch your community grow!!
Imagine how many lives your community will change by banding together to support the people you were born to serve!
Now get out there and hug your competitors!
Finally I want to leave you with an Instagram reel idea for you to implement this week!
Use this audio with a video of you sipping your coffee and getting ready for work or opening up your store/ computer/workstation and are super hyped up to get started!!
Can't wait to see those reels!
Have a blessed weekend!
